The small text on the front of the box reads as follows: The special feature in these Cards consists in the fact that the surface of both back and face is Granulated or "Linen Grained" instead of being quite smooth as usual. A very pleasing feel is thus imparted to the Cards in play - they are very easily dealt, and the chance of a mis-deal is considerably lessened.
