TITANIC lost in the depths for 73 years, its discovery in 1985 and subsequent exploration have made Titanic, the best-known ship of all time. The many events relating to the Titanic have made it a legend, and the present safety standards applied to modern day ships are attributed to its tragedy. This model was constructed from original drawings, photographs taken by survivors, and other technical journals, many of which were provided by the Titanic Historical Society resulting in a model nearly indistinguishable from the original ship.
